There were always myths of babies cute and bright changed for one of the fair folk. Rose traded for the thorn. At first the parents think it is just a fussing time of teeth ill timed and sharp coming in but deep down they know their own babe is in the land of faerie and this new child full of temper and endless lungs is not their own.
Once upon a time a baby girl was born the house. Normal and perfect in every rose bud way. The fairies came and left a changeling in her place. The family appreciated the new feral tempered creature and decided to keep her as emissary to the fair peoples.
